The Beatles - From Kinfauns To Chaos
Vigotone (VT-183/184 )

Disc one: Kinfauns (68:01)
Booklet: Obviously these acoustic demos differ greatly from the polished studio versions but we've made note of some other major differences.
| 1. | Julia | recorded in a higher key and features the verses in a different order | 3:55 |
| 2. | Blackbird | features a double tracked vocal, no break, natural bird sounds and a slightly slower pace than the studio version | 2:37 |
| 3. | Rocky Rackoon | this early version is significantly shorter lacking the opening and closing verses | 2:53 |
| 4. | Back In The USSR | lacks the final verse "show me round your snow peaked mountains..." | 2:57 |
| 5. | Honey Pie | this version also appeared on Anthology 3 in excellent stereo but missing the final verse | 2:09 |
| 6. | Mother Nature's Son | lacks the picked intro of the finished version | 2:20 |
| 7. | Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da | Paul occasionally loses time when he double tracked his vocal but this is an otherwise spirited take. Not surprisingly this version is closer in feel to the Sessions version than the finished take | 3:18 |
| 8. | Junk | appeared on Anthology 3 in stereo but lacking some guitar bits and vocals heard here | 2:26 |
| 9. | Dear Prudence | John lets out a "whoops!" as he flubs his double track vocal and finishes with a spoken outro | 4:39 |
| 10. | Sexy Sadie | features an undeveloped ending | 2:29 |
| 11. | Cry Baby Cry | lacks the "cry baby cry" intro and has a different ending | 2:32 |
| 12. | Child Of Nature | earliest incarnation of "Jealous Guy" - an early highlight of the Lost Lennon Tapes radio series | 2:46 |
| 13. | The Continuing Story Of Bungalow Bill | animal noises courtesy of the other Beatles | 2:42 |
| 14. | I'm So Tired | with an extra spoken passage: "when I hold you in your arms..." | 3:10 |
| 15. | Yer Blues | some early lyrics of note here: John is only "insecure" here and not "suicidal" like Dylan's Mr. Jones | 3:32 |
| 16. | Everybody's Got Something To Hide Except For Me And My Monkey | lyrically the same but otherwise completely different in feel | 2:59 |
| 17. | What's The New Mary Jane | what's noteworthy is that there's a demo for this song at all | 2:40 |
| 18. | Revolution | lacks the "you say you'll change the constitution" verse | 4:08 |
| 19. | While My Guitar Gently Weeps | features alternate early lyrics | 2:35 |
| 20. | Circles | George dug this one up 14 years later for his Gone Troppo LP | 2:19 |
| 21. | Sour Milk Sea | George gave this to Jackie Lomax to record for one of Apple's first releases | 3:43 |
| 22. | Not Guilty | George only waited 11 years to get back to this one on his George Harrison LP | 3:00 |
| 23. | Piggies | piggies "cut their porkchops" instead of "eat their bacon" here | 2:07 |

Disc two: Chaos (66:02) Liner notes from the booklet and my own comments about Yoko's banter.
| 1. | Revolution #1 | (take 20) playback #1 it's Tuesday (June 4th, 1968), Yoko says that she misses John, tells what they did that day and that they're now in the studio. She talks about a "record album" John and she are going to make. | 7:27 |
| 2. | Revolution #1 | (take 20) playback #2 Yoko thinks that a relationship like the one she has with John only comes once in a century. John comes in and asks her about a telephone call to Italy. Someone found her a new place overlooking the park, two rooms, central heating, very cheap. | 7:18 |
| 3. | Unfinished Jam #1 | some comments about Kyoko and Tony (Cox). Yoko doesn't know where he is... "I hope she doesn't resent me when she gets older..." | 7:00 |
| 4. | Unfinished Jam #2 | explicit remarks about John & Yoko's sex life: "It's so important you come inside me instead of coming in my hand or something..." Yoko goes on about why that's so important... | 1:58 |
| 5. | Revolution #2 | ...comparing it with kissing a mask instead of "yourself". | 2:36 |
| 6. | Revolution #2/Unfinished Jam #3 | About her shyness and that it can be easier to "make it with someone that I don't love..." | 1:40 |
| 7. | Revolution #2 | Yoko wonders if all this makes sense to John. | 2:02 |
| 8. | Unfinished Jam #4/Revolution #1 | (take 20) playback #3 After having played for half an hour John's skin is all read and sweaty. John's handwriting shows he is insecure... | 5:03 |
| 9. | Unfinished Jam #5 | Yoko sings along. John and Yoko duet Yoko: "You musn't do anything without me..." John: "I wasn't exactly doing it without you, I'm just doing it in the corner...I'm sweating to my boots..." | 5:59 |
| 10. | Revolution #1 | (take 20) guitar and organ overdub (take 1) "John I miss you again..." | 2:36 |
| 11. | Revolution #1 | (take 20) guitar and organ overdub (take 2)Yoko: "Paul has been very nice to me...on the level...in a straight sense....he explains to me, like I should know...I can see that he's just now changing his attitude, speaking with respect...There's something definitely very strong between John and Paul..." | 2:08 |
| 12. | Revolution #1 | (take 20) guitar and organ overdub (take 3) Paul plays a few notes of Lady Madonna. Yoko thinks John's voice is very beautiful and sexy. "..he has his blouse off, he only has an undershirt on. I think he looks too sexy..." | 8:32 |
| 13. | Unfinished Jam #6 | "...I'm watching you from the side but I think it's amazing you look like a real nervous wreck." Yoko thinks John looks like a "difficult artist" and that people get scared by him... " but it's kind of nice, it's very masculine." | 1:21 |
| 14. | Revolution #1 | (take 20) playback #4 Yoko thinks John can have very sharp, strong eyes and sometimes very soft and beautiful eyes | 0:34 |
| 15. | dialogue | Yoko sometimes wonders if she's following John too much. John looks angry. "George Martin looks much better now to me because I found out he's from a working class..." | 2:01 |
| 16. | Revolution #1 | (take 20) guitar overdub | 0:44 |
| 17. | dialogue/loop playback | "I'm the most insecure person in the world right now" John isn't there, "he's probably calling home...he's been with her over a decade and they have a child. I don't know what to make of it, I don't want to think about it." John comes into the control room to "throw in" a "very beautiful loop" (Mummy, Daddy, Mummy, Daddy) | 4:39 |
| 18. | Revolution #1 | (take 20) RM1 ("take your knickers off and let's go") | 2:22 |
This set features the most complete and best sounding Kinfauns demos ever on bootleg. The Vigotone people didn't include the demos from Anthology 3 (Silent Sea did with their "Kinfauns" release), they claim their source is the copy of the tape John Lennon took home in Spring 1968. It seems that the Vigos have acces to a lot of private Lennon tapes (did they aquire all the 'Lost Lennon Tapes?") because the 2nd disc of this set is a long taping of Yoko's introspective monologue (at some points John is heard too) during the mixing of Revolution #1. Apparently Yoko felt the need to tape her personal therapy whilst John and his collegues were working. I know a lot of collectors hate these tracks because Yoko is constantly bantering over the Beatles' music but I think there are some interesting moments that give us a peek into the Lennons' private life. Did Yoko ever hear back this tape? (If she did I doubt if we would ever have had the opportunity!). Try to listen to what she's saying for a change...
