Although there's no newly discovered material from the Lennon vaults here - the source of the tracks is the Gimme Some Truth DVD - this 'trees' release is fantastic! Three 'versions'of each song from the Dolby Digital 5.1 Surround Sound mixes; first the center channel, folowed by front and rear stereo channels. Listening to this CD is a revealing experience, instruments that were otherwise buried in the mix are audible here, sometimes Lennon's voice is almost isolated, then it's the bass that comes up front. John Lennon's best record is stripped to the bare essentials, what a great LP is was, what a great CD it still is and what an astonishing 80 (!) minutes listening this disc gives us. Excellent! A 'must hear'!
